Like a bird perched on my soul; it set me free
And like that bird, I longed to fly
My heart desired to touch the sky.
I lay on the grass thinking these thoughts
Wishing for someone in this world to love.
I wondered if love would find me at all
Or if I had somehow missed true love's call
Was love a concept to difficult to understand?
Was there anyone is this world who could help me stand?
Was love an experience that had somehow passed me by?
I looked to the heavens, but they won't answer me why.
